About Us

“. . . and what they’re saying, say it isn’t so.”
It is, though.  Absent a major money miracle, Saturday, August 2, was ella’s last night. The Board of Directors of A Community Theatre, the non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization comprised of The Ballroom, The Theatre and ella’s Supper Club, announced that night that there seems to be no way to keep the doors open for these three floors of magic. Ironically, that night, the house was packed—with  more lovers of great jazz, great food and great ambience than had been there all summer.
It would take $40,000, this week, to allow ella’s to re-open, just for the month of August. It would take a total of $125,000 by the end of the month, to allow ella’s, the Theatre and the Ballroom to stay open. At this writing, pledges and cash received this week total $4080.
